SONARAY Chosen for Phase II of Large Solar Lighting Installation for International Beverage Leader

Central Virginia-based SONARAY® LED Lighting (www.sonarayled.com) recently received the phase two order for solar street lighting to illuminate the parking, entrance, and exterior buildings area for a large publicly traded beverage and spirits facility in Mexico. Phase one and two of the project has totaled more than 450 of one of the brand’s series of 80-watt Delta Series Solar Street Lights and includes the solar panels and batteries for the complete solution.

DASCOM Americas, parent for the SONARAY brand of lighting says the installation constitutes one of the largest international lighting orders for the company from a dollar and solar fixture count standpoint. The company has a wide range of solar products and several distinct series within the subset of solar solutions.

This project was the result of excellent work from agencies in Mexico and the commitment from the end customer to sustainability. Phase one of the project was completed in 2020 and the second phase for the customer can be attributed to a variety of factors. The second order came from the ability of the initial fixtures meeting expectation for long-lasting illumination, acceptable time to charge for the battery, overall durability, and aesthetics of the fixtures.

According to a SONARAY spokesperson, the purchasing company is highly committed to sustainability because they are a beverage and spirits producer with strong ties to agriculture with a real focus on being environmentally friendly because of their reliance on nature for their vineyards and other holdings that help them to produce their products. The company is an internationally known leader in its field with widely recognized brands, and the Mexico facility is but one of the many holdings and locations for the company so the real possibility for future phases both at this location and others could occur.

SONARAY develops, engineers, and markets proprietary LED lighting fixtures for industrial, commercial, solar, marine, and horticulture applications. All their fixtures are LED, however solar comprises only a small portion of their product line. The SONARAY spokesperson added that the solar line has been growing in popularity due to the overall improvements in solar lighting and panel quality, low cost of installation, safety, low ongoing maintenance costs, and “green” aspect of lighting.
